2022-2023 Concert Series

Project Choir ONE

These talented music students and recent graduates of the University of Connecticut will perform a capella Christmas music from the sixteenth century to the present and include contemporary and traditional carols from Sweden, Italy, England, Spain, Germany, and Ukraine. Project Choir ONE, which was established in 2019, offers programs featuring a wide range of periods, styles and languages. Its founder, Dr. Jun Lee, will direct.

Leonid Sigal, Violinist
Saturday, February 4, 2023, 7:00 p.m.

The Concertmaster of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, who is regularly featured as soloist, returns to present a wonderful program of chamber music. A graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Sigal has performed throughout the world in recitals, with orchestra, and in collaboration with super stars of the music world. Critics and audiences praise his passionate performances, articulation and effortless virtuosity. During this program he will be joined by several instrumentalists for this performance.

Sergey Antonov and Ilya Kazantsev
Saturday, March 18, 2023, 7:00 p.m.

Two gifted musicians, cellist Sergey Antonov and pianist Ilya Kazantsev, return for another dazzling performance. Antonov, gold medalist at the 2007 International Tchaikovsky Competition, has gained world-wide recognition as a cello superstar. Kazantsev, winner of numerous international piano competitions, is known for his extraordinary virtuosity and musical sensitivity. They have both performed extensively as chamber musicians and with orchestras across four continents.

Angelina Gadeliya, pianist
Saturday, April 29, 2023, 7:00 p.m.

Ukrainian Pianist Angelina Gadeliya, a soloist, chamber musician, new music advocate and educator, is known for her refined and highly stylized playing. She has performed at New York’s Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie’s Weill Hall, the Ukranian Institutes in NY and Chicago, the German Consulate and at major festivals in Aspen, Banff, Fontainebleau, and elsewhere. Dr. Gadeliya is a faculty member and Coordinator of keyboard studies at the University of Connecticut.
